Mmmm…S’Mores!
When I was a kid, the thing we looked forward to most during cookouts and camping was S’Mores. There was something magical about toasting marshmallows and squashing them between two graham crackers, waiting for the chocolate to melt and the marshmallows to cool. Why not share the same fun with your children this weekend, making memories and giving them something to pass on to their own children…
If you are having a weekend barbecue, going camping, or even if you are stuck in the house on a rainy afternoon, S’mores are quick and easy for you and your kids to make together. Simply supervise the kids as the toast the marshmallows over the grill, campfire, or even the stove burners. Place a piece of chocolate on a graham cracker, the marshmallow on top, and sandwich it with another graham cracker. Let the heat from the marshmallow melt the chocolate…if you can!
If you are stuck in the house and not comfortable with the idea of using the stovetop burners to roast the marshmallows, set up half of the s’mores on a cookie sheet, using the graham crackers and a marshmallow. Bake this side in the over for 4 minutes on 300 degrees, while you set up the chocolate half. Once they come out of the oven, squish the sides together and enjoy!
*Fun Alternatives* Instead of plain chocolate bars, try using peanut butter cups, white chocolate bars, or another favorite candy bar flavor.

As someone who never tried s’mores until they were an adult, I experienced instant joy when I saw the picture at the top of this post. I love easy, tasty recipes.
